Zoe-perry

Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Two of her earliest television appearances were as Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed the role. Fearing stress, her parents did not want to see the actress pursue acting until she turned 18. Perry claimed she felt nervous to be an actor during high school, but started acting at Northwestern University as a way to make friends after transferring from Boston University. Perry was a graduate of Boston University moved to New York in search of acting roles on television. Her small part was in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness drove her to California for theater roles. In 2013, she was a part of The Other Place on Broadway alongside her mother. In the year 2015, she was with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie. The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry appeared in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC thriller The Family in 2016. Perry was also featured in an appearance on ABC's political thriller Scandal alongside her father. That same year she was cast as a young version of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again playing a young character of her mom's. Despite the fact that she has a connection with her family to the character she received the part through an audition.
